EDUganda

Device

A cooperation MoU between the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology represented by the Information Technology Institute and the Ugandan Ministry of Communications and Information Technology represented by the National Information Technology Authority of Uganda (NITA-U). The cooperation aims to train and develop 3,000 Ugandans to join the promising Outsourcing and Offshoring (O&O) industry as part of the Ugandan national strategy for job creation. The Ugandan side sought after ITI’s experience and the success of its EDUEgypt program that works in the same area. The ongoing cooperation started in the year 2012 and is expected to be complete by the year 2016.

Consultancy and strategy creation

Capitalizing on its long experience in the area of capacity development and strategy creation. The Information Technology Institute is continuous talks with several Ugandan private sector and government entities to assist their development into professional capacity development and assist in the creation of capacity development strategies. This includes the Ugandan Communications Commission (UCC), the Ugandan Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) and the Ugandan Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.


The Republic of Djibouti

Egyptian Djiboutian Capacity Acceleration Initiative (EDCA)

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with the Information Technology Institute (ITI) and the Djiboutian government represented by the Ministry of Communications and Post in the January 2015. This MoU aims to create a framework through which the Information Technology Institute can share its experience and knowledge in the field of capacity development and technology empowerment in order to foster the growth of the Djiboutian ICT sector. This is manifested over three main areas of strategic cooperation: - Establishing an Egyptian Capacity Development Centre of Excellence in Djibouti to develop and serve the Djiboutian ICT community and the horn of Africa region. - Providing Capacity Development services to the Djiboutian ICT sector and government employees. - Provide Consultancy to the Ministry of Communications in charge of Posts and Telecommunications of the Republic of Djibouti.


The Republic of Eritrea

Training for employees from the Eritrean Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Post in the year 2011. This training included awareness sessions and workshops in the area of Outsourcing and Offshoring in which the Institute has leading experience in. Additionally training workshops were conducted in the areas of Security and Networking Fundamentals.


The Republic of Burundi

Device

A training program was designed and conducted for employees from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The program included training on Networking Fundamentals and Security and took place in the year 2012.


The Republic of Sudan

E-Learning Pilot Project

Capitalizing on the Institute’s experience in the area of capacity development and its E-Learning Centre of Excellence (CoE); ITI has engaged with the Sudanese Ministry of Communications and Information Technology to conduct and demonstrate a distant learning pilot in the Sudanese Al-Ahfad University. The pilot included full design and setup of the E-Learning system and its application in a real life University setting in the year 2012. The pilot was met with astounding success and appreciation from the Sudanese side.
